1. About us
Stokvel.Shop (the “Platform”) is operated by Karavan Digital (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2025/232551/07, trading as SuperSaver (stokvel.shop), with its registered address at 32 Kloof Street, Gardens, Cape Town, 8000, South Africa. In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Karavan Digital (Pty) Ltd.

2. What Stokvel.Shop does
We provide a group-buying platform offering four ways to buy:
- Solo — buy now at the listed solo price.
- Team Buy — gather a small team (typically 3 members within 24 hours) to unlock the Team Buy price.
- Member code — entitled members get +5% discount at checkout, no login required.
- Sisonke Club Buy — community-scale group buys (e.g. 50 households over 14 days) that unlock a bulk price for everyone who joined.
Orders are fulfilled through the Stokvel.Shop store. We disclose, on each deal page, the solo price, the group price, the team size required, and the time window in which the team must fill.
3. Eligibility and account
You must be 18 years or older and reside in South Africa to transact on the Platform. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account. You may use the member-code flow without an account; however, certain features (admin, statements) require an account.
4. Pricing, payment and authorisation
All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable. We are currently not VAT-registered; this will be updated on this page once that changes.
Pay-now mode (default): when you join a team your card is charged immediately. If the team does not qualify within the window, your payment is automatically and fully refunded.
Hold mode (pre-authorised, where offered): we may reserve the amount on your card via a pre-authorisation. We only capture the amount the moment the team fills. If the team does not fill, the authorisation is released by your bank, with no charge.
We use independent payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
5. Delivery
We deliver across South Africa via our nominated couriers. The delivery address you supply at checkout is the address we will ship to. Delivery times are estimates and depend on courier capacity in your area. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.
6. Consumer rights
The Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (the “CPA”) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 (the “ECTA”) apply to your purchases. Nothing in these Terms reduces or excludes any right you have under those Acts. Specifically, our Returns & Refunds policy sets out your cooling-off, defects and refund rights.
7. Group-buy specifics
A Team Buy or Sisonke Club Buy unlocks the discounted price only when the team or community reaches the stated target within the stated window. If the target is not reached, your payment (in pay-now mode) is refunded in full, or the pre-authorisation (in hold mode) is released. We do not charge a fee for joining a team that does not qualify.
If your team qualifies but your individual payment cannot be captured (for example, insufficient funds on a pre-authorised card), we will notify you by email and SMS and give you a short window to complete payment, after which your seat may be voided and the team may be refilled.
8. Acceptable use
- Do not use the Platform to commit fraud, abuse refunds, or impersonate another person.
- Do not attempt to bypass team-size limits with multiple accounts or fake invitations.
- Do not scrape, automate, or reverse-engineer the Platform.
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these rules and reverse any benefit unfairly obtained.
9. Intellectual property
The Platform, including its branding, page designs, and content, is owned by Karavan Digital (Pty) Ltd or its licensors. You may not reproduce or distribute it without written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use of the website itself.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of the Platform. Nothing in this clause limits liability that cannot be limited under the CPA, including liability for goods that are unsafe, defective or hazardous.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You may refer disputes to the National Consumer Commission or the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud where applicable, or to a court of competent jurisdiction in South Africa.
